Submit your policy suggestions

Think first if your suggested policy is relevant to SP. If the policy has been implemented in your country, in another country, or could be implemented without fear that the country would become uncompetitive, then it is outside the scope of SP. SP is not a way to impose policies on other countries.

If your suggested policy addresses a global problem and cannot be implemented by a country acting alone because it would make it harder for the country to compete with others, then it is relevant to SP.

It is a good idea to discuss your policy suggestion with others before submitting it. As well as doing so amongst friends, colleagues and members of other campaigns (which is a great way to spread the news about SP at the same) you can share your ideas with Adopters at your local SP Adopters' Group and on the SP policies discussion group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/simpolicies-general/).

To submit a suggestion, you will need the backing of 10 Adopters (including yourself). Discussing your ideas first is a great way to develop the proposal and build support. When you are ready to submit, ask your seconders to visit this page and complete the first part of the form. If they are not already Adopters, they can register at the same time. You can submit the details on their behalf, if you collect the necessary details. All proposers and seconders will be contacted by email to confirm their support and names will be published with the policy suggestion.

Once your suggestion has been submitted and the required number of people have seconded it, it will be publicised to all Adopters through the website and the newsletter and will be added to the Simpol-UK Policy Forum and sent to discussion groups. Read what people are saying about your suggestion so you can defend it and find allies to promote it. You may wish to make changes to the text at some point, which you can highlight in the discussions, but you will have to re-submit the text, ideally prior to the voting round, so the new text is communicated to other Adopters.

You can use the form below to submit your suggestion. Alternatively email policy@simpol.org.uk

If you have answered 'Yes' then your suggested policy is probably outside the scope of SP. Explain why you are submitting it. If you have answered 'No' explain why it is impossible for a country to implement the policy unilaterally.
